Parents or relatives of a child wishing to be pierced MUST bring identification and proof that the minors Primary Legal Guardian approves of the child getting a piercing.

Pain varies from person to person, piercing to piercing - Bottom Line - be prepared for a little discomfort.
The piercing process should take less then a second, then the pain is over.
There can be alittle discomfort while your piercing is healing. Again this varies from person to person.

Initial healing can be as little as 6 weeks but some piercings such as cartilage can take up to a year to heal.
Oral piercings can heal in as little as 2 weeks.
If you follow your aftercare guidelines and look after your health then healing time will be expedited.

Due to potential legal issues we cannot comment on piercing issues not directly related to Modern Primitive.
If you are concerned about a piercing you have done elsewhere, or are having problems due to jewellery purchased elsewhere, then we suggest you contact the piercer/retailer who is responsible, or alternatively to a doctor. However we are able to offer examination/consultation including correct aftercare information for a fee of $15.

Minimum age of 12 years for any piercing. It is a violation of the Health Department Code of Best Practice to pierce a person under 18 years of age unless accompanied by their parent or court appointed Legal Guardian.
Parent does not mean -sister,brother,cousin,friend,boy/girlfriend, flat mate, uncle, aunt, anyone over 18, someone you met down the street etc.
Accompanied does not mean - a note, a verbal agreement, a phone call, "she can't come down but she saids it's ok".

All clients over 18 must provide photo id.

At Modern Primitive Piercing Studio safety always comes first - safety for both our clients and ourselves. All needles are single use and all jewellery used in the initial piercing process is compliant with the European Nickel Directive.

We have a completely separate sterilizing room which guarantees no cross contamination.

All of our sterilizing equipment is regularly serviced and calibrated by qualified technicians to ensure that their functioning is up to strict Australian Standards.

We can also provide documentation and records of all sterilizing cycles and autoclave calibrations.
